Online marketplace enhances customer experience

The system is designed for customers that regularly place repeat and bulk orders, and for onsite/remote personnel who may require parts in a hurry.

It includes full access to EPE’s product catalogue, which means customers can view detailed specifications on parts, compare various options and make informed decisions without having to call or email for further details. With pricing and real time stock-on-hand levels, operators can have confidence EPE has what they need.

User specific workflows can be set up including approval processes, which means onsite personnel can place their purchase requisition requests at any time, but orders will not be confirmed until an authorised customer representative has provided approval.

The system also integrates with most common accounting platforms including MYOB, Quickbooks and Pronto among others.

According to Mason Deetman from EPE, the system provides a seamless, end-to-end ordering option for customers.

“The system works a lot like other common e-commerce platforms but is specifically designed to allow geographically dispersed workforces to request and order parts as they are needed, and for customers to set up and manage their purchasing workflows,” Mason said.

“The accounting system integration means the entire purchasing process can be carried out without a lot of the double handling and re-keying that often occurs with manual ordering.

“Once implemented, it reduces the burden of the ordering process for the customer and ensures quick turnaround to get products delivered as quickly as possible.”

Mason said the implementation process is simple for clients running common, off-the-shelf accounting systems but could be integrated to other systems subject to verification.

“Whatever the case, once set up, clients tend to notice considerable time savings,” he said.
