Keeping ahead of supply issues

Keeping ahead of supply issues

Covid has caused so many issues over the past 18 months, affecting not only the health of people, but the health of many businesses too.

A lot have unfortunately succumbed to the pressures of lock downs and lack of trade, while others – particularly those involved in the resources sector – have recorded record profits as the mining industry continues to boom.

EPE has had a long association with the resources sector, whether supplying tier one miners directly, or assisting the countless contractors delivering products and services to the majors.

Demand for filtration, hoses, clamps, thermal protection and exhaust fabrication has been very strong and has kept the EPE team extremely busy.

Maintaining stock inventories is proving to be quite a challenge as delivery times have blown out to scales never experienced before. Shipping containers are increasingly harder to get hold of and air and road freight are subject to significant delays.

To top it all off, manufacturers are facing unprecedented shortages of components and raw materials, leading to extended production delays.

With this in mind, EPE has taken the step of forward ordering stock from all its key suppliers to ensure we can keep our customers supplied.

Some overseas stock orders have been calculated on a 24-month rolling average so we can be extra certain of maintaining parts on our shelves. It is a significant investment, but one we are happy to make in order to keep our customers’ vehicles, boats, trucks, trains and other plant and equipment running productively and efficiently with minimal down time.
